so with ducks on my brain…and feathers penetrating my soul...
I found myself in a quandary…a deep desire to do something more
with my artistic talents than just graphic design.
don’t get me wrong…I enjoyed my work and my clients very much.

and at the same time….
I needed to say “something” as an artist.
afterall I had at last found LIFE quite exciting,
coming to grips with my sexuality in the late seventies
led me to ultimately finding myself spiritually in the early eighties.

having gone thru hell and back…
(religion can really screw a person up)
I found myself involved in a “spirituality” that spoke to me very deeply.
a spiritual longing that I yearned for was at last found….

this was soon reflected in my art by taking my duck
(had not been named yet)
and giving him a metaphysical identity.
inspired by the soul-searching writings of
Ernest Holmes, Buckminster Fuller and Terry Cole-Whittaker,
I decided to call my duck ….
bucky!

WOW!-WOW!!-WOW!!!....thoughts of having a comic strip
(hopefully syndicated some day)
were dancing in and out of my psyche with much
anticpaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....tion!!!

I soon challenged myself to do it….
 “bucky"....my soul-searching duck
was born …
on paper that is!
this was soon followed by another character
“tiffy”....a metaphysical chicken

applying my spiritual-metaphysical explorations to my art
I started putting “bucky” in humorous metaphysical situations
with "cute" play on words in a one-framed illustrations.
(god knows NOW how I hate that word "CUTE" when it comes to my art!)

as fate would have it
I was published in a local new age magazine called
“HOLISTIC LIFE”
which in many regards was way-waaaaaaaaaaay out there
and yet whose cover was graced by the likes of
Lindsay Wagner, Phyllis Diller and course…Shirley MacLaine.

I am almost embarrassed to show these in public
  but hey.....it's a journey...so let's keep traveling.....
