needless to say....
…it has been a feathered journey of considerable note!…
many of my colorful tales and journeys have are now documented 
and have become the reality and inspiration for my cartoons
 
many have asked me…..
are your cartoons auto-biographical???
.....how could they not be???




 
life inspires duck….duck inspires life!!!
from a playful childhood filled with imagination and coloring books…
…to a turbulent and tormented adolescence…
….to questioning all of the “who, why and wherefores” in my twenties…
 
…to studying musical theatre in college…
…to finding myself and COMING OUT at the age of 27…
(almost makes the above previous statement redundant...doesn't it???)
 
…to finding a spirituality that put my life on a forward path….
…to exploring who I was as an artist…
…to establishing myself as a free-lance graphic artist…
 
…to surviving the AIDS crisis but saying goodbye to way too too many friends…
…to going thru many and many a heartbreak…
…to my hellacious life as a caterer…
…to my many years in community HIV-prevention work…
 
…as if this was not enough!!! …
I was at a very intense CRISIS OF SELF in the summer of ‘95
…my cartoons were stagnant….
…one of my dearest friends has died a few months before…
...the love of my life had broken my heart in at least 17 different places…
in short…
I was a metaphysical mess!!!
….when…
 
a good friend recommend that I take this creativity course called
“THE ARTIST’S WAY”

myself as an artist (and a person) again!!!
….my dream of being a syndicated cartoonist became a reality….
…found a very healthy and playful pace about my life….
…fell in love and got married to a wonderful man…
…which brought me to where I am today!!!
